I do worry about a cashless society. There is already little cash available for people collecting, for staff tips, for people begging. What happens to people who get locked out of being able to buy food or get warm with a hot drink because they don't have a bank account. On top of that, every card transaction we do creates a little bit of surplus money for someone, and that little bit is worth billions. We don't get it and neither do the retailers, so we're all paying more for what. In the meantime there is a bit less control, and although money may well be just energy, we're losing that physical symbol of it that can be so helpful to help us mere humans budget, donate etc.
