Privacy and Safety
Thank you for visiting my site, maybe buying an item from the shop or reading a blog post. Supporting independent artists is key in keeping the economy going for individual practitioners. As well as helping people to do something they want to. Supporting independents also means you help work from a much greater range of voices and backgrounds to be seen, creating an arts industry that is more representative of our society as a whole. Those of us who spend time crafting things also hope that it may also help a move away from the mass marketing of throwaway items and fashion fads.
As someone who makes and writes things, I have been really lucky in being able to work in other creative roles for a long time now too, but it's always nice to have a part of your practice where you can produce work to your own brief. All of my personal work comes from my own process-based drawing, illustration and writing practice, and it may be realised in a number of ways.
COVID -19 NOTICE UPDATED 21.04.20
At the moment I can ship items you buy. This will be via Royal Mail, so please allow extra time for this because the postal service is much slower right now. Until further notice, I'll be the only person packing up the items, and we haven't had any symptoms here.

2. YOUR DATA
Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).
It may be necessary to collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you in order to provide a smooth service, or for statutory requirements. This is always password protected, with limited access. Third party service providers are used for financial transactions, as well as to run the website, and in these cases some data may be stored by them in encrypted and password protected areas. At the moment these include Stripe, Google and Wix. Types of personal data that the website might come across are as follows:
Identity Data includes first name, last name, title, date of birth.
Contact Data includes billing address, delivery address, email address and telephone number.
Financial Data. Currently the shop function uses Stripe for checkout, so we do not store, process or come in to contact with your card details ourselves.
Transaction Data includes details about payments to and from you and other details of products and services you have purchased from us. We may keep transaction data for up to 7 years due to legal requirements for accounting, after which time it will be destroyed.
Technical Data includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform and other technology on the devices you use to access this website. While this site does not actively collect this data, the third parties might do.
Messaging Data includes messages sent to or received from entrants, buyers and the proprietor or staff of the website.
Marketing and Communications Data includes your preferences in receiving marketing from overeggingthepudding.com and our third parties and your communication preferences. You may opt out of this by contacting us.
At the moment we do not collect or use Aggregated Data such as statistical or demographic data for any purpose but third parties might do this.
We do not ordinarily collect any Special Categories of Personal Data about you (this includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic and biometric data). Nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.
3. HOW IS YOUR PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED?
Personal data is collected through direct interaction with you. For example, the delivery address you enter when making a purchase, or the email you enter in to the mailing list form. Website interaction or anything else that you do while you are on our site is not monitored by the site, and data from this is not collected by us.
4. THIRD PARTY SOURCES OF DATA AND SHARING DATA
We also collect and share data as described below:
Cloud storage providers – our current website provider has cloud computing storage that securely stores all of our data.
Email service providers - in order to send you marketing content and transactional emails, we share your details with our email service providers.
Analytics and Profiling Tools - we currently aren’t using any analytics or profiling tools to track how users use our website.
We do not conduct any online behavioural tracking.
MARKETING, ADVERTISING, PROMOTIONS
I may send you marketing emails to make you aware of upcoming events. If you would like to opt out of these please email. In practice the main marketing email is an alert when a new story has been posted. Otherwise marketing emails aren't usually done. If you want to keep up with more updates, then please follow on social media.
I do not give your data to anyone for third party marketing purposes.
5. DATA SECURITY
Appropriate security measures have been put in place to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, access to your personal data is limited to those who have a business need to know.
Procedures have been put in place to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.
You acknowledge that the Internet is not a completely secure medium for communication and, accordingly, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you send to us (or we send to you) via the Internet. We are not responsible for any damages which you, or others, may suffer as a result of the loss of confidentiality of such information.
A NOTE ON BREXIT AND GDPR
I'm currently happy to ship worldwide, as I only sell occasional one-off items. In the absence of any current guidance, my website will still stick to GDPR standards after the UK leaves the EU. However, as the UK government may be signing up to other arrangements, with tech platforms etc, please be aware that this is just an intention for the personal element of my business and I am not responsible for structural or other changes out of my control that affect GDPR.
