I don't really use Spotify but I must have done for a while after I moved house and had CDs and record player etc on in storage. I think people were sending me links too and then time passes. When Joni Mitchell and Neil Young, as two polio survivors, flounced off in the pandemic over some anti vaccine information I decided to give it a rest too only because I felt some sort of musical loyalty to a teenage love of Blue and Ladies of the Canyon. Some while later I got my CDs out of storage and realised how appalling my taste in music had become while I'd got used to streaming as a daily thing.  I have never really gone back to it, though have used Apple music since, where you can at least listen to whole albums without too much interference. I'm sure Joni and Neil Young are back on all the streaming services but having grown up long before the mindless streaming of ever more bland music era, I feel a lot happier as I am and am not keen to go back. Along one of my favourite themes of the digital being the most awesome tool in the world if we would only use it as a tool.
